Ecumenical Chapel

The Ecumenical Chapel in Bükfürdő was consecrated in 2003, and it is Hungary’s only chapel that is not owned by the Church but by a foundation. Mrs. László Jezierski, Kati, who had the chapel built, trusting in God and earthly supporters, set up a foundation and organized a fundraiser in favor of the building of the chapel in the late 90s. After initial difficulties, she sacrificed several of her properties in Hungary for the cause, and supervised the construction process even being seriously ill and walking with a cane.
On her 80th birthday, even Pope John Paul II sent his greetings to the church builder lady.
The spa heals the body with the medicinal water, while the Ecumenical Chapel right next to it provides opportunity for spiritual healing. The charming chapel surrounded by a green area is one of the most interesting highlights of the spa complex.
